This website gathers a living body of work on health, healing, economy, peace, wisdom, medicine, governance, spirituality, ecology, and civilizational repair.
Its central question is simple:
Does this way of living preserve, restore, and expand the conditions through which life remains livable — or does it disable them?
This is the question of life-coherence.
Why this work exists
Across many domains, we are living through a great inversion.
Life has been made to serve its own instruments: money, markets, institutions, technologies, ideologies, growth targets, security systems, and abstract measures of success.
Yet none of these has value apart from life.
Money has value only if it serves life.
Economy has value only if it provisions life.
Medicine has value only if it heals life.
Education has value only if it develops life-capacity.
Governance has value only if it protects the shared conditions of living.
Peace has value only if it restores the possibility of legitimate coexistence.
Knowledge has value only if it helps us see, name, protect, and repair what life requires.
This website is an attempt to re-ground thought, policy, medicine, economy, peace, spirituality, and civilization in the living conditions that make human and planetary flourishing possible.
The core orientation
The work gathered here draws especially from:
John McMurtry, who clarified the life-ground, life-value, life-capital, civil commons, and the critique of life-blind value systems.
Humberto Maturana, who showed that living beings bring forth worlds through their distinctions, relations, emotions, and coordinations of action.
Johan Galtung, who revealed that violence is not only direct harm, but also structural and cultural patterns that disable life and normalize its disablement.
Together, these streams help ask a deeper diagnostic question:
What manner of living are we conserving, and what happens to life when we conserve it?
What life-coherence means
Life-coherence is not an ideology, doctrine, or finished system.
It is a way of asking whether our habits, institutions, measures, policies, technologies, and forms of knowledge remain answerable to life.
A life-coherent pattern preserves, restores, or expands life-capacity.
A life-incoherent pattern disables life-capacity while often appearing normal, profitable, efficient, lawful, successful, or inevitable.
The task is to learn how to tell the difference.
