AI does not enter a neutral world. It enters existing riverbeds of power: medicine, law, education, finance, media, government, military systems, and corporate platforms. Once embedded there, it can either amplify abstraction, extraction, surveillance, and control — or it can be redirected toward shared repair, subsidiarity, care, and the common good.
The episode develops the contrast between Babel and Nehemiah as two architectures of civilization. Babel names the drive toward centralization, domination, uniformity, and power without communion. Nehemiah names the work of rebuilding in relation: local responsibility, shared vulnerability, distributed repair, and protection of the living community.
