Working instruments for evidence before intervention

This collection makes the Transformational Laboratories Field Companion and Human Tier 0 materials available for scholarly scrutiny, responsible adaptation and the design of non-consequential human rehearsals. It connects a published constitutional Protocol to the practical work of testing whether its safeguards, language and documentary demands are understandable, usable and proportionate.

One constitutional record, several subordinate instruments

Canonical record

Protocol v1.0

Defines the constitutional, methodological, authority, safeguard and learning architecture for the transition from theory to bounded praxis. Its Zenodo record is canonical.

Operational scaffolding

Field Companion and rehearsal pack

Translate the Protocol into progressive-disclosure aids, rights and authority cards, role pathways, proportionate documentation and a compensated Human Tier 0 rehearsal process. They do not lower the Protocol’s constitutional floor.

Evidence and correction

Evidence Report and readiness record

Make operational burden, comprehension, disagreement, safeguard value and unresolved uncertainty visible. They support bounded learning; they neither validate the Protocol nor authorize later action.

Architectural boundary. The Field Companion and Tier 0 materials are not F4, T5, an eighth canonical work, a new logical level, risk tier, gate or recursive grammar. The seven works remain F1–F3 and T1–T4. The project’s two recursive grammars remain unchanged.

Provisional interpretive note

Living coordination: what the safeguards are meant to protect and enable

The Protocol is strong on preventing domination, extraction, premature action and false authorization. Living coordination makes its affirmative purpose more explicit: the protected relational capacity through which people and institutions can become capable of healing together. This is a pre-rehearsal hypothesis to be tested, not a settled revision of the Protocol or Field Companion.

Living coordination is the protected, reciprocal and corrigible capacity of interdependent people to meet one another as both vulnerable and capable; to give, receive, refuse, contest and co-create without domination; and to turn difference, uncertainty and consequences into shared learning that replenishes life capacities, agency, ecological conditions and the capacity to coordinate again.

Shared vulnerability

None of us is self-sufficient. Yet vulnerability is not uniform: exposure, protection, power and responsibility are unequally distributed.

The human condition is shared; exposure is differentiated; responsibility is unequal; affected authority must be real.

Regenerative circulation

The alternative is not taking versus giving. Living beings must receive and depend. The relevant contrast is extractive taking versus relations that allow people to receive without subordination, contribute without depletion and replenish the sources of shared agency.

Curiosity and creativity

Curiosity can reopen interpretation; creativity can generate possibilities that no actor could create alone. Both remain answerable to consent, protection, justice, ecological limits and consequences.

Central Human Tier 0 hypothesis: Does this process leave participants more able to understand, imagine and act together, with dignity, agency and standing intact—or does its procedural burden narrow those capacities?

Critical safeguards for this orientation
  • Regenerative contribution is a cultivable capacity, not a claim that people are naturally or uniformly generous.
  • No affected person must disclose vulnerability, perform hope, forgive, reconcile, educate institutions or provide unpaid emotional and epistemic labour.
  • Curiosity without consent can become extractive inquiry; creativity without justice can optimize domination.
  • Fear, anger, grief, mistrust, refusal and dissent may carry necessary protective knowledge. Living coordination does not require manufactured harmony.
  • Institutions must contribute resources, authority, accessibility, compensation and accountable follow-through in proportion to their power and duties.
  • Warm relational language never substitutes for rights, remedy, material protection, redistribution, boundary institutions or independent review.

Four oral prompts for later human rehearsal

These are conversational prompts, not another grammar or reporting form. Passing is always permitted; personal disclosure is never required.

  1. What life-capacity or relationship matters here and needs protection or regeneration?
  2. What can each person perceive or contribute that others cannot—and what support would make that contribution sustainable?
  3. What might become possible together that no participant or institution could accomplish alone?
  4. What is narrowing curiosity or agency, and what could safely reopen that space?

Open resource collection

Read only as deeply as the present role and decision require. Shorter layers aid navigation; they never substitute for controlled records, local law, ethics, affected-community authority, independent safeguards or judgment.

The Protocol DOI identifies only the deposited Protocol v1.0. It does not identify the Field Companion, facilitation pack, templates, readiness record, synthetic exercise or any future Human Tier 0 Evidence Report.

Scenario distinction: Safe Transition Home is the completed non-human synthetic desk exercise. The Unowned Handoff is a different provisional candidate selected only for prospective-host assessment. Neither is a Human Tier 0 rehearsal or evidence of authorization.

Responsible use

How the instruments relate

  1. Begin with Protocol v1.0. It remains the controlling constitutional floor and withholds generic authorization to act.
  2. Use the Field Companion for navigation. It changes accessibility and operational usability, not rights, authority, safeguards, gates or thresholds.
  3. Complete accountable pre-recruitment work. Confirm a host, funding, accessibility, independent safeguards, ethics and privacy determinations, record ownership and follow-up capacity before approaching affected participants.
  4. Conduct only a released Human Tier 0 rehearsal. Use a synthetic or otherwise non-identifying scenario; make no material intervention, care-pathway change or consequential AI use.
  5. Produce a Human Tier 0 Evidence Report. Preserve participant correction, attribution choice, dissent, uncertainty and restricted annexes. Completion is not endorsement.
  6. Refine only within evidence. Operational findings may support bounded Companion changes. Protocol v1.1 remains closed unless real human evidence later demonstrates a material Protocol-level need that cannot reasonably be resolved locally or through Companion refinement.

Do not describe a rehearsal or instrument as “validated,” “approved,” “safe,” “effective,” “representative” or “ready for implementation.” A referral to later consideration is not authorization for a pilot, intervention, data use, changed care pathway or AI deployment.

Current programme status · 3 September 2026

The next legitimate action remains bounded

Candidate

The Unowned Handoff is a wholly synthetic, non-urgent outpatient referral and follow-up scenario selected provisionally for accountable-host assessment. It is not an adopted site or intervention.

Readiness

No accountable host, jurisdiction, compensation, accessibility plan, independent safeguards observer, ethics/privacy determination or report owner has been confirmed. Recruitment is locked.

Released action

Prospective-host identification and assessment only. Do not recruit affected participants, schedule a tabletop, collect stories, request diagnoses or approach people through dependency-bearing service relationships.

Revision hold

Field Companion v1.0 remains unchanged pending human evidence. Protocol v1.0 remains unchanged and controlling. Protocol v1.1 is closed.

Disclosure, versioning and responsible reuse

AI disclosure

OpenAI’s ChatGPT supported structured synthesis, adversarial review, drafting, document engineering and accessibility work under human direction. No live patient data or participant contribution was used in producing these materials. The human author reviewed the outputs, remains responsible for factual and normative judgment, and retains responsibility for every decision before use. No AI system is an author, affected party, duty-bearer, reviewer or source of authority.

Versioning

Preserve the filename, title, version, date, status and governing-record link of every copy used. Record adaptations visibly. A change to layout, accessibility or facilitation consistent with Protocol v1.0 is different from a change to rights, authority, gates, tiers, thresholds, safeguards or the two grammars.

Licence

Protocol v1.0 and all five subordinate instruments state CC BY 4.0. Preserve the title, author, version, date, status and governing-record relationship when reusing or adapting them. Attribution does not imply endorsement of an adaptation.

Privacy and publication

Publish blank templates or authorized, redacted records only. Protect restricted annexes, confidential channels, small-group identities, participant review, correction, attribution choice and unedited dissent. Never infer consent from attendance, silence or failure to review.

Invitation to scrutiny

Researchers, affected communities, practitioners, institutions and independent reviewers are invited to examine what these instruments clarify, obscure, protect or burden. Useful criticism includes missing standpoints, inaccessible language, displaced administrative labour, protection delayed by procedure, domination hidden by relational language, safeguards that change judgment and safeguards that merely generate paperwork.

Learning obligation: Never love coherence more than reality. Negative findings, refusal, unresolved disagreement, conceptual failure and evidence that another vocabulary or method works better are legitimate contributions to the Civilizational Learning Loop.
