Yesterday February 4, 2016 was World Cancer Day.
What is World Cancer Day? According to worldcancerday.org:
“A truly global event taking place every year on 4 February, World Cancer Day unites the world’s population in the fight against cancer.
It aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about the disease, pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action.”
It’s primary objective:
“To get as many people as possible around the globe to talk about cancer on February 4.”
Why World Cancer Day is Important?
- “Currently, 8.2 million people die from cancer worldwide every year, out of which, 4 million people die prematurely (aged 30 to 69 years)
- World Cancer Day is the ideal opportunity to spread the word and raise the profile of cancer in people’s minds and in the world’s media”
So in the spirit of raising awareness of cancer and its root causes, I would like to do my part in helping raise awareness and education about another Cancer, far more insidious and pervasive and destructive not only of the lives of individuals, but also of the livelihood of communities and the planet.
This is the real Cancer that is behind the increasing cancers we see in our communities.
(For more information on these cancers in our community, please see: The Secret to a Healthy Nation, and Cancer – Incidence, Causes and The Way Forward.)
For more information on the real Cancer that is hiding behind the scene that has already started to metastasize by incapacitating our tumor immuno-surveillance system, please see: Genocide, ecocide and the Empire of Chaos.
And finally, for information on how civil society can unite to strengthen its tumour immuno-surveillance system and fight against this Cancer, please see: Rewriting the Rules of the Global Economy.
Please get involved by helping to raise awareness and education about this pernicious Cancer and press governments and individuals around the world to take action, so as to help save millions of preventable deaths in our families, our communities and that of our planet life-support systems and its life goods for this generation and the next.
Now is the ideal opportunity to spread the word and raise the profile of this Societal Cancer in people’s minds and in the world’s social media!!
