As humanity faces a global meta-crisis of meaning, health, ecological collapse, and institutional breakdown, a new model of development is needed — one that aligns the flourishing of individuals, cultures, and the planet through a common grammar of coherence. This white paper introduces a coherence-centered reframing of developmental intelligence, drawing together key threads from Integral Theory, regenerative health, teleodynamics, and life-value philosophy.
We propose a minimum complete set of ten regenerative intelligences, each representing a vital mode through which coherence is enacted within and between individuals and systems. These include somatic, affective-relational, cognitive, ecological, narrative-semiotic, ethical-axiological, creative-aesthetic, temporal-developmental, spiritual-noetic, and techno-social intelligence. Each intelligence emerges through interaction with absence, tension, or incoherence and develops through the TATi cycle — a generative grammar of Tend, Align, Transcend, and Integrate.
Key contributions of this paper include:
- A clear criterion for regenerative intelligence rooted in life-alignment and systemic coherence
- A developmental grammar (TATi) applicable to individual and collective evolution
- A reconceptualization of intelligence as teleodynamic affordance tracking, not fixed traits
- A synthesis of insights from polyvagal theory, fascia science, narrative healing, and spiritual cosmology
- A map for education, leadership, and governance systems to evolve beyond fragmentation
- The introduction of Coherence Intelligence as a meta-capacity to track and restore systemic wholeness
- A vision of Homo amor — the next stage of human becoming — as the embodied realization of regenerative intelligence in action
This paper sets the stage for a broader shift from intelligence as performance to intelligence as participation. By restoring coherence as the guiding telos of development, we offer a framework to support the healing and evolution of people, cultures, and the living Earth.
