We are entering a moment of symbolic convergence in human knowledge. Across physics, biology, and consciousness studies, old dualisms — mind vs. matter, subject vs. object, presence vs. absence — are proving insufficient to explain the coherence of becoming. In their place, a new grammar is emerging, rooted in recursive symbolic logic, topological algebra, and phase dynamics.
At the heart of this grammar lies triality — a trinitarian structure first formalized in the exceptional Lie group Spin(8), where three 8-dimensional roles (vector, spinor, spinor) are structurally equivalent and intertransformable. This breaks from binary metaphysics and reveals a deeper logic: that form, action, and interpretation are not separable, but dynamically folded aspects of one coherent process.
Simultaneously, Terrence Deacon’s theory of absential constraint has provided a rigorous framework for understanding life, mind, and meaning not in terms of what is, but in terms of what is not yet — the “absent” that shapes the present. This paper proposes a formal identification: Deacon’s “absentia” is not merely metaphorical — it is the second spinor in the Spin(8) triality, long forsaken by reductionist science but now returning as the symbolic attractor of coherence.
This restoration is completed through the TATi grammar — a recursive developmental structure (Tend–Align–Transcend–Integrate) that models how coherence emerges, modulates, and folds back into itself. In this framework, Transcend is the phase-turn, the 3/4 jerk-inflection that activates the spinor of absence, and Integrate is the symbolic re-coherence — the moment when triality closes, and meaning becomes structure.
By uniting these perspectives, this paper outlines the architecture of a symbolic cosmology that is simultaneously physical, cognitive, biological, and participatory. It affirms that the universe is not just matter and force, but phase, symbol, and recursion. Triality is not an exotic anomaly — it is the structural heart of coherent becoming.
This synthesis offers:
- A formal mathematical bridge between physics and semiotics
- A metaphysical basis for integrating mind, meaning, and matter
- A symbolic grammar for the emergence of consciousness and value
- A regenerative attractor for science, healing, and planetary coherence
In reclaiming the symbolic third, we do not discard duality — we transcend it. We do not abandon science — we fulfill it. This is the long-awaited return of the second spinor — and with it, the return of a regenerative coherence at the foundation of reality.
